Today...I wear flip flops!!

That's right. Today is amazingly beautiful and I have the day off so it is my first dance with the liberating world of flip flop wearing. Granted, they often leave style to wind in exchange for breeziness and comfort, but who cares? They may not make my outfit but they are making my day. My dogs are happy and eating up the sunshine. They feel free. As it goes, I'm an extremely white, bordering on transparent, person and can stand nothing more than when my tan line ends at my ankles with a vivid stripe. Sorry, no I'm not wearing white booties, that's my horrendous tan line! Hence, I love the flip flop. Shall I continue on and also mention that I'm currently wearing, along with said flip flops, a wife beater and brown skirt, aching to feel the fresh air everywhere possible and still be legal. The skirt wearing is a feat I'm especially proud of as I have not worn one in about 8 years, due to being heavier and self conscious. But now, no longer being a size 20, I feel great. I'm a size 10 now and plan on wearing skirts and shorts all summer, along with the ever pleasant flip flops.

Happy Summer,
Sissy

Wow form a 20 to a 10! Congrats!
Sounds like you got that comfort thing figured out!

Makes me want some of that sunshine! Cloudy and damp here in Texas today!

Thank you for calling them flip flops. Some people still call them things-thongs and some folks I really don't wanna see in a thong.
Warning: closing your eyes does not help, but only makes it worse. hehe

Thanks for the props!! I worked my ass off (quite literally).

I love Texas. I have family in Gainseville. If it wasn't for the bugs!! Yuck.

I have to agree on the whole thong thing. I have to say that I don't want to see most people in a thong, even George Clooney would not be cute in a thong.

Chikku-
I didn't get an email. Do you think it would be safe to just give you my regular email on here? I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that our cold weather isn't gone for good, just for now. We'll have another bout of cold. But we rarely get below the forties. This is California after all!!!

Stephanie-
Yeah, I suppose your days of sunshine are a limited few. I remember those days of the Pacific Northwest. But, hey, you actually have green scenery, which is limited here.

Ahhh... the dreaded American wedding. LOL....joke. Anwyay, I guess it depends on the wedding. Is it formal? Inside or out? A church? I usually go for a simple black dress if I'm not sure. It can go either way. Put on a pair heels and earrings and you're good to go. As for gifts, I suppose that depends to. Are they already living together? If so, they may not need a lot of the traditional gifts for the home. If they don't, I got a set of Pyrex for my wedding and I swear it's the only gift I still have and use all the time. It's the best stuff ever. It's not very personal, but very useful. Otherwise, maybe a pretty fame for their favorite wedding picture. You can have them personalized at a jewelers or something too, with their names on it. If I come up with any more thoughts, I'll let you know. And if you have any more questions, please ask!!! I love the sharing.

Digital frames are great!! I think anyone, married or not, would love that. Super idea. And black is the best. It's a universally nice color and flatters everyone. No, not all weddings are formal. Friends of mine actually got married western theme and everyone wore jeans and cowboy boots. And my moms wedding to my step dad was very informal too. But if you buy a nice black dress with simple jewelry I think you'll come across as perfect regardless of how formal it is or isn't. When is the wedding? Let me know what you get and how it all goes.

I can't wait to see a picture. It used to be that people didn't wear black to weddings, it was considered a funeral color, but things have changed and now it's considered to be classy and nice. I'm sure you're gonna look great.
